Salt Flats, Uyuni

We spent three days in our jeep visiting Salar de Uyuni, Laguna Colorada, Sol de Manana and Laguna Verde. The landscape was so different and diverse it was like driving through different worlds, with each having their own piece of magic. Even our hotel was made of Salt!

Oruro, Bolivia

I luckily managed to get one of four trains per week from Oruro south to Uyuni. The service includes meals, videos and fancy fine dining. This is a sure better way to travel in Bolivia than the not so reliable buses.

Isla Del Sol ( Island of the Sun ) is the birthplace of the sun and Inca mythology. We spent three hours in the North of the Island visiting the ruins and then caught a boat to the South of the Island. This is a tranquil, beautiful Island with glistening waters and white, sandy beaches.
