Milford Sound is very impressive but unfortunately we didn't have the best weather for it so everything looked a bit grey and misty. Apparently it has more rainfall than the Amazon Rainforest so you have to be really lucky to have a clear day.
I think this has to be our favourite City in Queenstown. The surrounding landscape is just breathtaking. We did a skydive here and it was amazing The Remarkable's (mountains) made a fantastic backdrop : )
Lake Wanaka is just beautiful. It's 99.9% clear so perfect for swimming! Whilst here, we visited the organic Rippon vineyard which has outstanding views across the lake.
We drove past Saddlers lookout point and then onto Punakaiki. The pancake rocks are curious limestone formations that still remain a mystery as to how they were created......
We visited the stunning Abel Tasman National Park and did the coastal walk. Most of the beaches we walked through were completely deserted! We stayed overnight in Whariwharangi Hut and drank a bag of wine under the moonlight on the beach : )
Windy Welly was also quite sunny at times. We rode the gondola for cracking City views, visited the Botanical Gardens for tree hugging and enjoyed a ferry ride across to the South Island.
